Welcome to Gaijin Grind!

Hi everyone! I’m Rob and welcome to my blog. Having been gaming and watching anime for nearly 40 years, I’ve experienced a lot, and I’m excited to share that with you all.

My goal here is to dig below the mainstream and expose the hidden gems most people wouldn’t come across otherwise. I’m going to play, watch, and read as much as I possibly can and give you my honest thoughts on all of it — no numeric scores, just a straightforward recommend, mixed, or not recommend, so you can quickly figure out if something’s worth your time.

Beyond reviews, I’ll also be having discussions on things like what’s airing this anime season, what games I’m looking forward to, and whatever else is on my mind. And this blog isn’t just about media — I’m also documenting my grind learning Japanese and my long-term goal of eventually moving to Japan, good weeks and bad ones included.

Got something you want reviewed? I’d love to hear it — check the About page for how to reach me.

Thanks for stopping by, let’s see where this goes!
